Preparing Youth for the Workplace

Employers report a large and growing gap in the job readiness skills of younger workers. If unaddressed, this gap will limit the ability of our local businesses to find the new staff necessary to grow and thrive.

In response, the Central Massachusetts Workforce Investment Board (CMWIB) and the North Central Massachusetts Workforce Investment Board (NCMWIB), together with their partners, have created the Job1 Initiative to align and support the schools and workforce development programs in the Worcester County region looking to work more closely with businesses to better prepare our youth for the workplace.
